MOON Executive Bodies are the Members Assembly, the Chairperson and the Management Group, the Science Steering Committee and the Operational Advisory Group.

1) Members Assembly

The representatives of Members constitute all together the Members Assembly.
The Members assembly will assess the decisions taken and the work done during the year by the Operational Advisory Group, the Management Group, the Chairperson.
Dr. Paul Mifsud, UNEP/MAP Coordinator, is a permanent invited member at the MOON Assembly. EuroGOOS Director is permanent invited member of MOON assembly.

2) Chairperson and Management Group

The Chairperson and Management Group will serve for three years, and will be responsible for all MOON activities between Annual Meetings. They will be eligible for re-appointment for up to a maximum of one successive turn. The Chairperson may give notice one year in advance of his/her intention to retire, and in that case the following Annual Meeting shall appoint a new Chairperson.

3) Science Steering Committee (SSC)

The members of Science Steering Committee will be appointed by the Members Assembly.

The Science Steering Committee will develop the scientific strategy for the fulfilment of MOON aims, update the MOON Science Strategy plan, prepare MOON Scientific Implementation Plan, maintain and develop links with the international scientific community.

The first SSC is the one described in Appendix IV of the MOON MOU. Membership of the SSC will be changed as necessary at the discretion of the existing SSC in consultation with the Members Assembly.

4) Operational Advisory Group (OAG)
